64th Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics

Historic sporting event where four rowing crews, representing the ancient maritime republics of Venice, Pisa, Genoa, and Amalfi, compete to reenact historic feats and rivalries. Videe handled the filming of the regatta for RAI in the beautiful but challenging Venetian location. The HD8 OB Van was stationed on a motor pontoon in front of the magnificent Piazza San Marco, while the cameras, connected to the control room via an elaborate system of antennas and radio links, were positioned at the city’s most scenic points.
