Event Description
From February 7 to 21, Cortina d’Ampezzo hosted the largest international event held during the COVID-19 pandemic: the 46th Alpine Ski World Championships. A closed-door event that, thanks to the power of digital platforms and new media, reached nearly 500 million people worldwide. Fourteen days, 13 world titles, 70 nations, 600 athletes, 700 volunteers, 550 media representatives… and an intense, spectacular program that included downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, combined, and parallel slalom races, both men’s and women’s, as well as a mixed team event.
Videe provided filming equipment for the outdoor sets on the three slopes—Olympia, Vertigine, and Col Drusciè—through a dual setup: super slow-motion cameras and Sony HDC-4800 Hyper Motion camera chains, as well as mini cameras (including remote-controlled) on the race course, equipped with RF and fiber-optic transmission and reception systems, ATOM Mini One, and ATOM Mini 4K 11. In addition to systems ensuring camera operation in extreme temperatures, suitable protection was provided for shooting in rain or snow.
