“Stripped of everything, far from their certainties, the castaways will have to survive alone or in groups. The worst enemy is not the cold, but the unknown that inhabits the mind.” The 13th edition of the most adventurous reality show on Italian TV schedules airs on Canale5 starting January 22. Since 2011, the setting of the castaways’ lives has been the archipelago of Cayos Cochinos in Honduras, a location perfectly suited to hosting VIPs who will face hunger, cold, solitude and forced coexistence in an often hostile environment. Once again this year, the show is hosted by Alessia Marcuzzi, joined in the studio by commentators Daniele Bossari and Mara Venier; reporting from the island is Stefano De Martino. The grand finale takes place in the Mediaset studios on April 16.
Videe is involved in the production of the weekly live prime-time episodes, the 24/7 filming and editing for the daily “daytime” program, and the challenge games between contestants. The supply includes a main flight case control room and a backup one, both in flight case, a 15 m jimmy jib, underwater, remote, night cameras and camcorders, signal control positions, audio capture and lighting equipment. As for post-production activities, Videe provides storage servers, ingest stations, logging and editing stations. The transmission system for international and local links between sets and technical areas consists of a network of microwave radio links, terrestrial and submarine optical fibers, and DSNG flight case units. Power continuity is ensured at all production sites through numerous generators and UPS systems. Videe also takes care of all logistics for shipping and customs clearance of the equipment.
